Bye bye 2015.
A year of two halves.
Before and after June 6th.
The day Bianca died, an axe fell and coldly chopped the calendar in half.
And what an exciting year it was turning out to be until then.
And how many adventures had been hatched and planned in that week before June 6th; plans that we – her tribe – have, and still are, carrying out between us all. With willing hands and heads but heavy hearts…#GREAT15 in Galway…Scratch Conference in Amsterdam…Dojocon Derry…Féilte Teachmeet & Researchmeet (in a space called Rang Bianca) at the RDS…Teachmeet LAI in Marino..Teachmeet Cavan…
Plans that still stretch on into 2016, to infinity and beyond …#BETT16…#cesicon … #tmFroebel… #ictedu… Excited2016… PhD…
All of the above, already done and still to come, have and will be carried out by the Bianca “road crew”. We know who we are, we know what we have to do, and we will do it together. And it will be great.
In other ed-tech related news, the second half of 2015 also had …Megadojo in UL …a Minecraft for Teachers course at Microsoft …a moving Froebel memorial for Bianca in Maynooth …a Digital Youth Council 2015 development weekend in Athlone …a long-awaited visit to Cloghans Hill NS …a visit to the Taoiseach’s Office to launch the 2105 Hour of Code …the start of a Dissolving Boundaries elective with Froebel 3rd years …a great afternoon at the Google Call to Code finals (with encouraging increased participation by female students and teachers) …several really enjoyable tech workshops introducing littleBits to students …an invitation (accepted with pride) to become the next Irish Ambassador to Code Week EU.
